In 2023, I Hope You’ll Trust Yourself
I know you have goals for last year and this year, but please know that the most important thing you need to be is healthy and happy — or simply, here.
No matter what you want to achieve, you need to know that you’re enough. You do not need to do more or be more. You’re everything you’ve ever needed to be already.
Wanting to be better and having goals is natural. But it never defines you.
You’re more than your goals. You’re worthy of space, attention, and love for who you are right now.
I know finding a place for yourself out there is hard.
You don’t know if you’re making the right decisions. You doubt yourself. You think “What if this is it?” You want to believe you’re good, you can do it, but you don’t actually know if that’s true.
I want you to know that it’s okay to not have all the answers. To live with an uncomfortable degree of uncertainty. To go into the complete unknown.
Actually, more than being okay, it’s good news.
You’re trying. You care. You’re getting to know yourself. You’re moving forward. You’re stepping into uncharted territory. You’re growing — in strength, capacity, and awareness.
Don’t you worry — no matter what happens, you always have yourself.
In 2023, I hope you’ll trust yourself.
You’ll trust that you can make your own judgments and do the best for yourself. You’ll trust that even if sometimes things don’t go as hoped, you can bounce back and keep going.
In 2023, I hope you’ll take moments to slow down and see yourself for all your wonders.
Even when the world is not looking and listening, you’re here to be. Stay tuned in to the drums of your chest, to the beauty of your spirit, even to the sweat and tears, and learn everything there is to learn about yourself.
In 2023, I hope you’ll get intimate with yourself.
Forget about the pursuit of romantic love or money for now, and take the time to care for yourself and give yourself what you truly need.
I want you to know that your validation of your own experience is enough. Your feelings and thoughts deserve acknowledgment.
In 2023, I hope you’ll see life through your own eyes.
You will not let anyone tell you how to think and feel. You’ll disagree. You’ll state what’s important to you. You’ll take your stance. You’ll forge your path. You’ll believe in your own vision.
You won’t wait around for people to do the right things for you. You’ll do what you need to be healthy and happy. You’ll do what’s good for you. Now.
In 2023, I hope you’ll feel enough.
You’ll know that the rest of your life starts here, and it’s a question of what you want, not what you lack. It’s an adventure of building upon what you already have, not a desperate search for what you’re missing.
Sometimes, you have to look closer to see further.
In 2023, I hope you’ll look closer inside yourself, closer at the life you have and the people around you, and see abundance right where you are.
Go at your own pace and have fun! It’s okay!
